Course Objectives To convey to the students the materials used in traditional civil architectural features and applied construction techniques
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to compare the construction techniques of architectural elements and their interrelations within the framework of periodic changes
  • It can defend the necessity of preserving and preserving traditional construction techniques and materials.
  • Will be able to explain civil architectural features.
  • Classify traditional architectural materials unique to Anatolian architecture.
  • Describe local and traditional construction techniques that vary according to the period and region.
Course Description It is aimed to introduce the material and construction techniques used by civilization living in Anatolia in the historical process in building production. In this context, it is aimed that the students have the knowledge to be able to identify the regional and periodic differences that can solve the construction techniques of the architectural elements built with different materials and their relations with each other. It is aimed to define the traditional materials and construction techniques with homework based on observation and examination in the field and to acquire knowledge and skills to understand the relations between architectural elements.
